Meditation
Meditation is consciously directing your attention in order to quiet the chattering mind. You can practice it sitting with your eyes closed, watching a candle flame, walking, practicing yoga, studying a geometrical image, chanting and simply by paying attention to a current activity. Some of the benefits are stress relief, concentration boost, sharper brain, alleviate pain, insomnia or simply become a nicer person. Stressful emotions are linked to higher risk of ill health. Experiencing stress represses the immune system reducing the production of antibodies and T cells. By changing the way you think and relax using meditation, you can protect yourself against disease. A 1993 Canadian study showed a 70% increase in immune-strengthening beta endorphins following meditation.
